All parents invited to attend
Welcome to A-Beautiful Pools, Inc. Project Parent Website! A lot has developed since 1985 when we first began our Professional Pool Management ventures. Over the course of the past couple of decades, we have grown as a Lifeguard company and positioned ourselves as one of the most professional and safety minded Pool Management companies in the USA. Every aspect of our company is critically challenged each year to improve the service we provide to our customers and our team members. The parents of our employees are also an important part of our team. It is helpful when parents are involved behind the scenes and are working with their child on how to be a great employee with what for many is a first job. The information on this page is for you to use when needed. It will also give you the information that our lifeguards (your children) are responsible for knowing. Please motivate your child to contact us if they have any questions, and we thank you for being such great parents! Contact InformationLifeguards have several options when contacting our office and Supervisors. Each Supervisor has a company cell phone where the lifeguards can reach them. Please see your child’s Operations Manual for his/her contact info. The lifeguards can also call our office where they can be helped or directed to either their supervisor, internet. Our contact information for the office is 281-376-6510 and office@a-beautifulpools.com. General Rules for Lifeguard StaffAll our policies are in place to promote a professional, safe and courteous working environment. Lifeguards are required to be in complete uniform at all times. Lifeguards are expected to look the part of a paid professional at all times. Lifeguards are also part of the maintenance team at the pool and are required to clean the pool each morning, and throughout the day. Lifeguards are also responsible for the cleanliness inside the gate area at the swimming pool, including common areas on the deck, restrooms, pump rooms, and guard designated areas. The use of cell phones and electronics by our staff is prohibited on deck. The lifeguards will have access to their phones on breaks where the positions are covered, but answer phone calls or text messages during their shift. Please get the pool phone number from your child in the case of an emergency. Lifeguards are also responsible for communicating with their employers. Please encourage your child to never let a small problem become a big one, and to communicate any issues he/she may have. Scheduling and ShiftsThe lifeguards will get a monthly schedule from their pool manager. The schedule is made two weeks before the 1st of the month, and the lifeguards are responsible for turning in the schedule requests by this date. All our lifeguards are expected to arrive at their shifts 10 minutes before they start. This gives ample time to be on stand at the start time of their shift. We also have a “no show, no sub, no job” policy. If a lifeguard does not show up to work and has not found a sub, they will be terminated. The number of lifeguards at our facilities falls back to safety at the facility, and that cannot be compromised. If your child is sick, please give as much time as possible for your supervisor to be notified and help your child find a sub. If your child does find a sub, the supervisor needs to be notified so they know whom to contact if there is a problem during that shift. Substitute lifeguards are listed on the employee list given to each employee and posted at the pool. If any employee wants more hours, they are welcome to post their name at our pools for first “sub” calls. The monthly schedule will have all meeting and in-service information on it as well. Lifeguard Training and In-serviceA-Beautiful Pools, Inc. trains all our lifeguards. Each lifeguard needs to have a current certification. A-Beautiful Pools, Inc. goes above and beyond by requiring that our guards renew their lifeguarding and CPR each year. This protects our employees from a lapse in knowledge during the off-season, and keeps them fresh and capable! That is one of the many reasons why we have the best lifeguards in Houston. In-service training is a requirement of the State of Texas. Employees, for their certificate to remain valid, are required to participate in four hours of in-service each month. The dates and times are listed in the Manual, on-line, and on our employee’s schedules. Each month there will be two pool and two company wide in-services, in addition to the time spent at the lifeguard’s individual pool. A-Beautiful Pools, Inc. pays employees bonuses for in-service training. Please see the incentive and bonus program on our website for more information. Timekeeping and PayrollAll employees’ hours are logged through our telephone timekeeping system. Each employee has a unique employee pin, and they are to call our timekeeping phone number when they arrive at the pool and when they leave. They will also clock in and out before changing jobs, ie to a swim lesson teacher or pool party guard. All employees must be at an A-Beautiful Pools, Inc. location to use the timekeeping system. In the instance of system failure, each employee must fill out a timekeeping form online. If any employee forgets to clock in or out, and doesn’t use the online form for corrections, they will not be paid. Timekeeping corrections that are a result of an employee forgetting will be charged a 30 minute administration fee. Please use our online form for corrections made during that pay period at http://www.a-beautifulpools.com/time_keeping_adjustment.php. All paychecks are handed out at in-service every two weeks. If an employee cannot attend in-service their check is mailed to the address on file. Aquatics Directors and Supervisors cannot give employee checks to anyone other than the employee. For all payroll discrepancies, including lost checks, please have your child inquire here http://www.a-beautifulpools.com/payroll.php. Please note this form is different from above because the check has been issued and it is not correct or has been lost. Time Commitment and Length of the SeasonAll employees, at the time of their interview, commit to working at least Memorial Day through Labor Day each summer. The season does extend past those dates at certain facilities. All pools are open on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. All employees are expected to work the entire season and Holidays unless notified at the time of interview/before the first day of work. All requests for time off regarding season length or Holidays must be given in writing. Employees that fulfill their commitment and responsibilities will be given incentive bonuses http://www.a-beautifulpools.com/2008_incentives.php and a re-hirable status or job referral if moving on. All employees who quit before the end of the season will not be eligible for bonuses, will not be welcome to come back the following summer, and will not be given a good recommendation or referral. We appreciate our lifeguards and the skills they possess! Please encourage them to stay through the season, even if they can only commit to one or two shifts after school starts! Our lifeguards, your children, are the most visible part of our team. They carry a huge amount of responsibility on their shoulders! We appreciate you encouraging them to respect their job as a lifeguard! Thank you! |
